In India, there has been a growing interest in nutrition in recent years. The National Health Policy, 2017, was announced by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to address Malnutrition. It has a severe influence on population production and contributes to the country's high death rates. Malnutrition meaning:Malnutrition is a sign when children are either too short or too thin for their age. Stunted children are those whose height is less than the national average for their age. Similarly, children who are underweight for their age are referred to as wasted or skinny for their height. The stunted and wasted children are regarded underweight as a group, indicating a lack of optimal nutritional intake and postpartum care. Nutrition Planning for addressing Malnutrition:Nutritional planning entails developing a nutrition strategy and long-term planning to improve food production and supplies, ensure equitable distribution, and implement programmes to raise people's purchasing power. This could include land reforms, competent agricultural guidance to help farmers acquire greater yields from their farms, and proper farm production marketing assistance. Some of the plans for the government to implement include increasing people's capacity to buy nutritious food in sufficient quantities, income-generating activities for the poorer sections of the community, making good quality food available at affordable prices through a proper public distribution system, and so on.
